Wanted: Crock Pot Recipes

I love Crock Pot cooking because it is so easy and because it is so... easy. Problem is that I only have a handful of recipes and I want more. With the baby coming, I have a feeling that cooking like this will become more and more appealing.

If you have and good crock pot recipes, please send them my way! mrspreppy at gmail dot com

(I have looked online for recipes, but I like it when people give you recipes.... chances are, someone would not pass along a crappy recipe)
And since I am asking for your recipes, it is only fair that I give you one of mine.
Slow-Cooker Barbecue Beef Sandwiches
5 tbs dark brown sugar (divided)
3/4 tsp black pepper2
1 pound flank steaks
1 cup chopped onion
1 cup tomato paste
3 tbs Worcestershire sauce
3 tbs molasses
3 tbs cider vinegar
1 tbs chili powder
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp dry mustard
1 tsp ground cumin
1/2 tsp salt
Combine 1 tbs brown sugar and pepper; rub over both sides of steaks. Combine 1/4 cup brown sugar, onion and the next 9 ingredients in an electric slow cooker. Add steaks, turn to coat. Cover with lid; cook on high heat setting for 1 hour. Reduce heat setting to low and cook for 7 additional hours. Remove steaks, reserving sauce in the cooker. Shred steaks with two forks. Return the shredded steak to the cooker; stir into the sauce. Spoon desired amount of steak mixture onto a bun or roll roll and top with onion and pickles, if desired.

Trashy, Tacky, and Trashy

Pregnancy Piercings.

Who in the world would want to purchase one of the awful things? I saw an ad for these in a magazine and just had to share.

My favorite is sweetness. Classy.

J Crew @ TJ Maxx

I am jealous of anyone that is lucky enough to have J Crew shoes at their local TJ Maxx. So jealous, that I am willing to pay you to be my personal shopper. ANY J Crew shoes in a size 8.5 or 9 - I will take. Shoot me an email if you find any of these... I don't care about the color, style, etc.

House Tour - Part 1

I realized that I have never posted any pics of the house - probably because there was always that one last thing I wanted to tweak. So, as rooms become completed, I will post pics.

The back side of the family room has some great built in book shelves that we just finished getting organized. I have collected turquoise glass for a couple years now, so this is a great place to display some of that. I also went ahead and "baby proofed" the bottom 2 shelves - pretty soon these will be filled with toys, books, etc. All of the frames in the living room are black and/or silver - I do not like it when things all match, I would rather have them coordinate.

Puppy Love

This Saturday we are probably going to go look at puppy Golden Doodles. LOOK being the key word. As much as I would love to bring home a new puppy, the rational side of my brain snaps into gear and brings me back to reality. A puppy and baby at the same time? Maybe not a good idea.

(I had this breed picked out long before there was even talk of the First Dog..... Maybe we could have a puppy play date with Sasha and Malia)
If you have a dog and a baby, which came first? The dog or the baby?

I guess this does it for some guys…..

Last night, MM and I were having a great time at Starbucks, talking about everything from work to jewelry to pregnancy… until the creepy dude next to us started listening to our conversation. He then became obsessed with my pregnancy… wanting to know everything about these past couple months. Some of the best lines were:

- “So, do you just eat a ton?”
- “Do you drink, like do shots drink?”
- “Do you smoke? I have friends who are super smart and their moms smoked all the time when they were pregnant.”
- “How can you not find out the sex? You can do that?”
- “What do you think you are going to have? I think it is a boy.”
- “Like, you could have the baby right here in Starbucks”
- “Come March, I am going to think about the chick that I met in Starbucks and wonder how she is doing…”
- “The doctor said the head is where?”

I am surprised that he did not reach out and touch my stomach. Maybe be had a fetish for knocked up girls. Or maybe he was just feeling guilty because he said that he had to fire a pregnant woman at work the next day. Either way – creepy, yet slightly flattering and funny!

Martha Stewart vs. Mrs.Preppy

A Martha Stewart employee recently tipped off Gawker with a sneak peak inside their new offices. The domestic goddess would HATE my office.

I need stuff for my walls... the drab grey gets old after about 5 minutes.
