Last night, MM and I were having a great time at Starbucks, talking about everything from work to jewelry to pregnancy… until the creepy dude next to us started listening to our conversation. He then became obsessed with my pregnancy… wanting to know everything about these past couple months. Some of the best lines were:
- “So, do you just eat a ton?”
- “Do you drink, like do shots drink?”
- “Do you smoke? I have friends who are super smart and their moms smoked all the time when they were pregnant.”
- “How can you not find out the sex? You can do that?”
- “What do you think you are going to have? I think it is a boy.”
- “Like, you could have the baby right here in Starbucks”
- “Come March, I am going to think about the chick that I met in Starbucks and wonder how she is doing…”
- “The doctor said the head is where?”
I am surprised that he did not reach out and touch my stomach. Maybe be had a fetish for knocked up girls. Or maybe he was just feeling guilty because he said that he had to fire a pregnant woman at work the next day. Either way – creepy, yet slightly flattering and funny!

Oh my gosh! How intrusive! And yes, you, me and MM need to get together--and soon! How fun would that be??
And yes, I LOVEd the phone wire cutting. "The phone guy came in today and showed Michael that our phones have a PA function. And then he just left." tee hee!
Hahaha! What a funny story! Some people are just infatuated with pregnant women, its true, especially a lot of men! you're a mystery to them! ;)
Oh how interesting! People always have lots of pregnancy questions-- but I think I did, too before I got pregnant. I'm just surprised he came right out and asked them! :)
That is definitely a little weird!
Some people just have no concept of boundaries. However, this guy seemed pretty harmless and genuinely interested. I'm glad you weren't there alone!

Yet another reason not to hang out in coffee shops-they've become weirdo magnets! Yuck-I have had various things like that happen to me at Starbucks (not preggo tho!) and it is really creepy!

You are such a good sport! I probably would have burst into tears, or turned red and remained silent. Seriously, does seeing a pregnant woman make strangers lose their filter or what? Honestly, I'd expect those questions from a close friend, not a stranger at a store!

Good luck to him & his for sure lawsuit for firing a pregnant girl. Years ago I was renting some videos for my dad who was on bed rest after surgery & the guy in front of me dropped a video & I picked it up for him. It was a sex tape with all pregnant women!
I laughed all the way home, esp since I knew him, he worked at a local coffee shop. ~Mary
