Why are Banana Republic mark downs not the same at every store or online? Sunday afternoon I was at one location and found a pair of shoes marked down from $130 to $27. They did not have my size (and would not call another store) so I stopped by store #2 on my way home. Success! But, this pair was only marked down $47. I told them that they were marked down even lower at a different location and asked if they could call to verify and give me the lower price. The manager told me that they generally do not do things like that, but would make an exception.I ended up getting the shoes for around $20, since all women’s shoes were an additional 30% off.
(mine are black) Moral of story – cross your fingers that your local Banana is nice and does the good mark downs... And a Banana salesperson once told me that they get their leather from the same place Coach gets their leather. Interesting.
(For my Dallas people – West Village seems to generally have lower prices than any other location…North Park is where I ended up buying them)

12 Additional Thoughts:
J. Crew is the same way... who knows. Yeah I used to always go to the Banana in Chattanooga when we'd visit my gpa because they always had killer markdowns - many times better than the Atlanta stores.
Banana shoes are great though - what a deal!
So pretty! I love them!
Have a great day!
All of the Gap Inc stores are like that and it drives me absolutely crazy.
Just because I live in town doesn't mean I don't want the same price as the people at Cumberland Mall in the suburbs.
I'm impressed if you're still wearing heels...I think I gave them up about 5 months ago!
Nice!! Good deal and so cute!! I dont even have a Banana Republic so you are already ahead of the game here!
Lovely pumps!!!!
I looked at those and thought "ouch." I barely fit into my wide flats today and I have narrow feet. I'm jealous! =)
I just sent you an e-mail with chocolate soup coupon.
Beautiful! And a good deal. I'll have to hit up Banana sometime soon to check out the shoes but since they don't do maternity, I don't frequent them these days.
super cute shoes! I'm not good at wearing heels (due to my clumsiness) and I'm not even pregnant! Kudos to you!
west village is the best because people who live around there would never be caught dead wearing anything identifiable as having been on sale! It's hilarious. And also awesome. I've gotten E a silk-cashmere sweater for like $30 and I usually get clothes for myself at around 25% of the original cost. I'm a total BR addict.
Thanks for the tip! I'll have to check out the West Village store more often.
