Restoration Hardware Baby

I was in Restoration Hardware the other day (getting new bathroom stuff) and found out that they now have a baby and children's line. I am not a huge fan of the wild and crazy nurseries, plus there are sooo many tacky and cheap looking patterns out there, it was nice to see something nice, yet not too grown up.

This is my favorite.... Plus, it would be great for either a boy OR girl.

(No, I am not pregnant.... just looking at all of this stuff because everyone I know is either pregnant or just had a bebe!)

She was a good dog.

Actually, she was a perfect dog. This morning, we had to put our family dog to sleep. Scooter has been a part of our life for the past 17 years and she will be missed.

We love you girl.

Blender Help

I need your help and suggestions....

Currently, we have the Breville Ikon Die-Cast Blender... I thought I was going to love it, but so far has been anything but. From everything I read about it, it should be able to make mulch from tree branches. Not that I ever intended to make mulch in my kitchen, but I at least wanted it to make smoothies, hummus and most important... margaritas! This is the 2nd $200 sucker that I have had. It constantly creates air pockets while blending, making the motor work extra hard until I have to stir things up to remove the bubble. Not that I am lazy, but when I spend $200 on a blender I want to be able to rely on it working. Perhaps I have just had back luck with duds, but this one is going back... maybe the 3rd time will be a charm.

If you have a blender that you like, please fill me in!

Stella & Dot

Have you heard of Stella & Dot? I had no idea who they were, until about a month ago. I saw a necklace in a magazine and loved it, and I had to have it. So, last night I hosted a Stella & Dot party (I never host these types of things, but they have really cute stuff....) and they are going to offer the "party package" to all of you all!
If you decide you want to order anything, just leave a comment and I will send you the sales rep's email.

Spot Removal

The Woolite Oxy Cleaning Pod is wonderful.I tossed it in the cart a couple months ago, and now we cant live without it. It removes everything from red wine to cat mess to dirt to mystery spots. I especially like the carpet comb that fluffs the carpet back to normal, plus is works fast.
We have these 'mystery spots' that randomly appear.... Neither one of us know what they are how they got there and this is the only thing that removes them.

Mrs. Preppy in the Kitchen

We celebrated my dad's 50th birthday last night with a surprise party at the lake and then everyone boarded a private sail boat for some time on the lake.... everything about last night was wonderful! We had a great time and I am so glad that we were able to spend my dad';s special day with him. In preparation, I made about a million snickerdoodles..... my most favorite cookie, ever.

This is one of the best wedding gifts we received. I love using it!
Baking cookies is a breeze with one of these things....

Laguna recap

(the top pic is our view from hotel #2 and the bottom pic is our view from hotel #1)

We are back from Laguna, and I want to go back. The wedding was beautiful and so was the scenery! We ended up having to stay at 2 different hotels since we made these plans such last minute. Both were great and had beautiful views. We had a great time and now it is time to unpack and get back to the real world.

We both had issues with our left eyes on the trip.... Mr. developed a case of pink eye and when I was riding the waves and one smashed me directly into the sand. There are a couple scratches and a black eye is developing. Mr.'s eye was all cleared up in time for the wedding and mine happened right before the ceremony, so there was not enough time for the swelling and such to occur. (Above: This might be our Christmas card pic.... Below: My in laws and us...)

Off to Cali.

Why might I be posting a picture of these 7 high schoolers? Because tomorrow at this time Mr. and I will be on our way to Laguna Beach! (Plus, Season 1 was by far the best. Yes, I have seen every episode of Laguna Beach... before the entire cast changed.) His cousin is getting married on the beach on Sat., so we are only making a fast trip. Wish we could stay for longer, but we do have these things called jobs.
