I wonder...

Do you think celebrities keep the pictures from their photo shoots? Specifically, Tori Spelling and family seem to do a lot of family photo shoots and they usually have really cute pictures.

I love watching Tori & Dean... they seem like they would be a lot of fun to hang out with.

30 Day Shred

I started the 30 Day Shred this week in hopes of being super skinny and hot by the time we baptise Miss A. (I am not going to stand up in front of the entire church still looking chubby and flabby. Yes, I am vain enough to admit to these things)

After 4 days of Level 1, I am feeling good. There are a couple of questions I have for Jillian...

  • What is that tattoo on your ankle?
  • Why do you rave over the blonde's abs? You my dear have killer abs.
  • Why are you not wearing cuter workout clothes? I also sometimes wear rolled waist sweatpants, but then again I don't have my own workout video.
  • Why do I feel like such a goober during the punching section of cardio? My right side is decent, but I am a fool on my left side.

Anyone else doing The Shred? How are the other levels?

Birth Announcement

This is a long overdue post, but below are what the Baby M birth announcements looked like:

Simple Boatman Geller photo cards with her info printed on the inside. I liked this because those who want to frame her pic can just take the photo off the front of the announcement.

Vacation Recap

We are back from our fab beach vacation and now it is time to do the fun stuff, like unpack and laundry.

Overall, it was a great trip. Mix in a little rain, a trip to the hospital, and a 100 year old house and it made for our normal summer vacation. One highlight of the week was dinner at Lady and Sons! I hardly ate anything that day because I wanted to have plenty of room for the butter filled food.

I started off with a southern belle martini.

Then we all had cheese biscuits and hoe cakes.

The majority of the table had the buffet, but someone ordered the chicken pot pie and another had a fish dish. (Both were delish... I tasted both) I sampled almost everything on the buffet... fried chicken, mashed potatoes, mac n cheese, green beans, and another veggie casserole.

And for dessert there was peach cobbler.

I loved everything except the cobbler. Maybe that was because my stomach was already full with other savory goodness. My favorite items of the night were the cheese biscuits, mac n cheese and green beans.

More vacation pictures are posted on the private Baby M blog.

Baptismal Gown

Baby M is going to be baptized at the end of the summer and I have been searching for weeks for the perfect baptismal gown. I have a mental picture of it, but cannot seem to find the perfect one.

Lucky for me (and Baby M) my mom is an excellent seamstress and she is going to make the gown! I am so excited. Plus, the really cool part is that she is going to use the fabric from her wedding gown. My mom had mentioned saving it for one of my brothers future wives, but since I had the first grandbaby, I win. Plus, seeing as neither one of them are anywhere close to getting married...first come, first serve.

I really like the style of these 2 dresses... and there will be no hat involved. I think they look goofy and I don't want to cover up her hair.

Quick Sand Bread

Why in the world does my banana bread sink like quick sand? I follow the directions and have even tried to bake it for a little longer, but it still sinks.

What am I doing wrong? HELP!

Ingredients
1/2 cup solid vegetable shortening
1 cup sugar
2 eggs
3/4 cup mashed ripe bananas
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 1/4 cups flour
Pinch of cinnamon

Directions
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Oil and flour a 9x5x3-inch loaf pan. Using an electric mixer, cream the shortening and sugar. With the mixer running on medium speed, add the eggs one at a time. Add the bananas and mix well. Add the baking soda, salt, flour, and cinnamon and mix thoroughly. The dough will be sticky. Pour the dough into the prepared pan and bake about one hour or until the center is brown and set.

The million dollar question...

What in the world did Danielle do to Dina???

I did some online digging and this is what I found:
According to Danielle's blog on bravotv.com she says, "As for the end of the Reunion, when Caroline said such horrible things to me, I had no idea at the time what "disgraceful" acts she was referring to. I only found out later what she was talking about, from someone in her own family. I simply gave a phone number to her ex brother-in-law to contact proper people with questions that he had concerning something that was absolutely none of my business. I was asked to give this information to him. If I had to do it again, I would have declined and preferred not to get involved. But I think my minimal involvement did not justify Caroline's behavior towards me."I heard from New Jersey gossip floating around that Danielle gave Dina's ex-husband phone numbers to contact the authorities to report child abuse because she was alleging that Dina was abusing Lexi. However, the claims were dismissed as soon as they were brought up.That's why Caroline said that she wouldn't say what "it" was because Dina asked her too, because she didn't want to re-hatch something that Dina was no doubt mortified about and wanted to forget, even though it wasn't true.

Personally, I like Dina and all of her fake bubbie glory. Who knows what really happened..... All I know is that Season 2 is going to be drama, drama, drama!

Flying with Baby

Next week we leave for a week long beach vacation! I love the beach and I am hoping that Miss A loves the beach as much as her mama. And if she doesn't, there will be plenty of other people around to give me some time to worship the sun. Seriously, I can be out from sun up to sun down and love every second of it.

Plus, Miss A is going on her first plane ride! Do they still give out wings to little kids/babies when they fly? She needs some to go into her baby box. (Yes, baby box. A big brown box with all of the mementos -- I am not a scrapper)

Anything I need to know to make the flight a little easier with an almost 4mo old? Right now we am planning on strapping her into the Baby Bjorn and only using the stroller when we have to. Hopefully my AA status will help us out and give us priority bulkhead seating. One thing I know for sure, she is going to be dressed super cute. It is hard to get mad at a sweet little baby when she is dressed cute - right?
Oh yeah... and packing. Ugh. I HATE packing for myself, but now I have to pack for the both of us. At least her clothes are small and I can bring lots and lots of options. It is the **other stuff** that is making my head spin.... stroller. car seat. pack n play. Bumbo (for the beach). monitor. toys. diapers. milk/formula. bottles. Holy moly. Looks like I am going to be making a trip to Target once we get there because I would much rather just buy some of this stuff.
