Lucky for me (and Baby M) my mom is an excellent seamstress and she is going to make the gown! I am so excited. Plus, the really cool part is that she is going to use the fabric from her wedding gown. My mom had mentioned saving it for one of my brothers future wives, but since I had the first grandbaby, I win. Plus, seeing as neither one of them are anywhere close to getting married...first come, first serve.
I really like the style of these 2 dresses... and there will be no hat involved. I think they look goofy and I don't want to cover up her hair.

Those are all so beautiful! I am sure she will look absolutely lovely.
PRECIOUS!! And, I adore the fact your mom used her dress fabric...what a special dress!
I like the bodice of the first one but the simplicity of the second.
Was she saving the dress for them to wear of what? I think it is better to make it into a dress for Baby M because a new bride would likely want to choose her own dress.
What a talented mom you have!!
so beautiful!!! i can't wait to see the finished product!
beauty! I love it! My mom used her wedding dress to make an alter cloth for mine and my sisters wedding :)
breathtaking...i want to see a picture of that baby and all that hair :)
Oh gosh, these are both absolutely stunning Mrs. Preppy, goodness! How wonderful you have help in the family to create just what you want!

Those are gorgeous! I can't believe your mom can make something that beautiful- you are a lucky girl! One thing B's family does is stitch the initials into the hem or collar of the dress (on the inside where you can't see it) and then the dress gets passed down to every future girl in the family with the initials already inside. It's a great tradition!
That an amazing keepsake and family heirloom that will be. The dresses you have pictured are beautiful. I am sure the dress your mother makes will be just gorgeous.
How precious! What a neat idea to use the fabric from her wedding gown! Happy 4th!

Congrats, girl... come on over to claim your prize! :-)
Oh my gosh! They're so sweet!! How wonderful that she'll have a baptismal gown that is so rich with family history and love. Aw!!
My grandmother made the christening gown, slip, and bonnet for my firstborn (he's 23 now) and all of my children and brother's children have worn it. I love it! And I saved my wedding dress for the same thing - to use for my children's wedding or baptism. I love the dresses you selected. They are both beautiful. What a special memory.
That is such a great idea! I can't wait to see pictures! :)
Amazing!! What a neat idea!!
It is pretty and a true family keepsake.
I love the first dress. I think the second reminds me of a flower girl dress. Totally agree with you on the hat, wish I had skipped it!
