Oh Martha… you never cease to amaze me. Yes, I know you probably don’t come up with all of these ideas yourself… and you might be a slave driver, but I still love you. Your monogram pumpkin was the inspiration for MY monogram pumpkin.

Yes, yours has pretty scrolls and even lines, but mine is real. And was carved after one too many glasses of wine.
And it proceeded to rot after only a couple of days. I heard that if you spray Lysol inside the pumpkin it does not rot as quickly. We did not have Lysol, so I used some organic counter cleaner…And it did not work.
Next year I need to do a pumpkin like this:

10 Additional Thoughts:
It is outstanding Mrs. Preppy, very cool! The Lysol trick is one we hadn't heard before, and good to file away for next year.
Hope your Halloween is fabulous!

I saw somewhere to do a cute monogram with painted thumbtacks in the pumpkin. I guess it wouldn't light up, but it doesn't rot and is a lot easier to make the letter pretty. I'm going to try it next year. Happy Halloween to you, Mr. Preppy and Miss A!
Your pumpkin looks fabulous! Mine is painted by my 20 month old girl...I'm sure you can imagine how that turned out!!
Ours are already rotten too; we carved on Monday night. Seriously, how are you supposed to enjoy them if you have to carve them the day before Halloween to ensure that they'll still look nice?
Love your monogrammed pumpkin! Very cute!
Happy Halloween!
ps. May I have an invite to Baby M's blog? =)
Love your pretty necklace!! We don't even have carved pumpkins, so, you're one upping me!
I made a martini glass. Also after too much wine.
very cute! i have never heard the lysol trick. may have to give that a shot next year..
