Michael Jackson skin

Since giving birth to be wonderful Miss A, my body has gone through some **interesting** things... and interesting is putting it lightly... 6 battles of mastitis, a blood clot in my wrist, high blood pressure/extreme swelling, torn tendon in wrist from the repetitive motion of picking her up, a pyogenic granuloma on my face that I had that lasered off and now melasma...

What is melasma? It makes your skin look like this:

Sometimes it is called pregnancy mask. Mine developed the FIRST day we were at the beach this summer. Even with 30 SPF, within 30 min I had brown spots on my forehead, cheeks and upper lip.

And the best part is that it it is impossible to cover up with makeup. I constantly look like I need to wash my face and make an appt with the waxer. Lucky me.

I saw the dermatologist this week and if I want to jump start the clearing up process I can get facial light treatments, laser resurfacing or have a chemical peel done. Yes! Sign me up! Oh wait.... those are out of the budget. Which leaves me with the most affordable option. Bleaching cream.

Yes, the cream that Michael Jackson used to transform from a black man to a white woman. One of the side effects of the cream is being able to moon walk and possibly losing your nose.
Is it in bad taste that I make a joke about a man that recently passed away? Too late.

***That picture is NOT me. No way am I going to post a close up pic of my spotted face.***

Umm, is it bad that I laughed out loud with your "from a black man to a white woman" comment? Well, it's Friday, I'm allowed to be a little bit un PC, right?

So sorry about your post pregnancy woes--and I'm sure that everyone is saying this--but, what a beautiful little girl you got because of it!

And yes, lets get together soon--sorry I kind of flaked on the follow up last week. Any nights but Monday and Wednesday work for me!

I wouldn't post a picture that close either! I'm sure it will heal just fine. I love, LOVE the new look of your blog. Did you design it?

I had that but just had my last peel and it's gone...ok it's 99.9% gone. Try the PCA lightening gel- or the VI peel...they work!

LOVE the new look. I had spots on my cheeks during pregnancy and to be honest I haven't even paid attention since having baby LC...no time!

I would love to get together soon. We can talk pregnancy woes...gosh you've been through the ringer. Feeling better now? I hope.

Good grief - it sounds like you had quite an experience when Baby M was born! Never a dull moment!

I hope the bleaching cream works for you. Have a great weekend!

wow you've been through it! I had mastitis twice and I wouldn't wish it upon my worst enemy! The crazy thing is, growing up on a farm I remember us doctoring cows that had it! ha! So the first time I got it I felt like an old milk cow! ha! Well, I can totally feel you on the skin issues because I have been through them!!! It is drawn out, but I will have to shoot you an email about it. I did recently have a chemical peel, first one ever, costs me $75 and probably won't have to do for another couple of months. It actually did help though!

I found your blog through my google reader recommendations. OMG, having melasma is the worst. I have it too!!!! My doctor says that my case looks like the pregnancy mask as well and, I've never been pregnant:( He put me on Tri-Luma. Unless you have melasma, it's hard to understand what it's like to walk around every day with your face like this. I hope your cream helps!!!! I can't start using it until I come back from Florida! Cute blog=)

Oh. My. Gosh! I thought I was the only person to ever have a Pyogenic Granuloma!!! I had mine taken off the day before Homecoming because my date thought it was some kind of alien abduction coming out of my thigh.

and pleeeeeease keep us updated on the lightening cream. My foregead spots were super fun to try and cover for my wedding day. (ugh)
