This is absolutely insane. How much care and attention do you think 2 parents can provide to an entire fleet of children? In my opinion 18 is more than enough.... I sure hope they are not accepting charity from people to help take care of this many children.
Wal-Mart offers $4 generic prescriptions. Since she lives so close to the Wal-Mart headquarters, she should take advantage of this corporate generosity and pick up this.

Lord. I read about them a few months ago; they absolutely do survive on donations, primarily from their church members, I believe. I also think they don't use birth control because they're fundamentalist Christian, or something like that.
Pregnant for more than ELEVEN YEARS of her life?! Insane.
Oh jeez. I saw this on the Today show this morning and really, enough is enough.
Fine, no birth control - I get that. But time your damn cycle lady - natural family planning is an option.
The picture in itself is insanity!
I'm your swap partner! I sent you an email!
It's definitely not the lifestyle I would choose, but they do manage it very well. I've read interesting interviews with the parents where they talk about how each older child has a younger child to buddy up with. Also, they teach a lot of seminars to help other people get out of debt. It's a huge sized family, but for them, at least, it is not an irresponsible size.
Ugh--just think of that massive carbon footprint. And want to bet they're kids go to college on government assistance? Just where I want my tax payer money to go. Harumph. It takes a lot to get me feeling conservative, but something like this almost does it.
This post is HILARIOUS!!!! Those people totally creep me out. Sometimes their tv show comes on after Jon & Kate Plus 8 and I cannot find the remote fast enough! The tie that you asked about is from Marshall's.. 10 bucks!!!
This made me LOL! I am not like Bona Fide Preppy Bride though...I have a crazy fascination with the Duggars. I have watched all those Discovery Channel shows about them. In one of the early shows, JimBob (the dad; yep, that's his name) talks about how they decided to become debt free after their first child was born. They only buy what they can afford, nothing on credit. Also, they own a gas station (or did) and rental property. OK, *blush* I just gave myself away...I have watched too many of those shows!
I'm not sure how they get along financially, I read that he is in real estate and I believe he was a State Representative at one point! The smocks that all the girls wear, the mother's hair and the fact that all of the kids names start with the letter "J" all annoy me for some reason...
ps. I believe she home schools all of them...
I could not agree more!
yes, they scare me! and i can't stand their outfits or that all their names begin with the letter "j".
I agree with you...they seem like great parents, I've watched them on the Discovery Channel...but hhhmmmm.... but what happens when their children need to go off on their own, college, or THE REAL WORLD?
They must be Fundalmentalists which does not make sense with our world today!
