Growing up with younger brothers, I witnessed all sorts of crazy things that you can do to cats... All humane, of course. For example, if you place little pieces of tape on their paws, they do not put their paws on the ground. So, if you do that to all 4 paws, it is pretty amusing. Animal lovers, don't worry -- the tape was never sticky enough to cause pain when it comes off. Or if you loosely tie something around their waist, they immediately fall to the ground. Maybe it messes with their equilibrium -- who knows.
Mean? No.
Funny? Yes.
I think the same theory applies to clothing and cats. When you dress your cat in a cute, preppy dog shirt they immediately fall to the ground. I had never tried to dress Steve the cat before, and now I know why. Getting the shirt on him was no big deal. Trying to get the shirt off of him without him biting you -- a different story.
You would think I would learn with the first shirt. But, no. Here he is another preppy polo.
(Excuse the quality of the pictures. I can't find my charger for my camera, so the camera phone will have to do.) Here is his new collar that matches the green shirt. Cute in theory, but doubt the matching outfit will ever be worn again.

5 Additional Thoughts:
wow, i wish i had been there to see that one! steve the cat was probably not amused but i would have been laughing my arse off!
Haha... That's how it starts, one shirt here, a polo there. Next thing you know it's a lobster suit!
I wish I had such a cooperative kitty.
once i dressed my male cat caesar (his sister is called cleopatra) in my mom's godson's baby clothes. he immediately flopped to the ground and wriggled, trying the get the whole getup off.
i am still looking for a frilly easter bonnet - he may be male, but he has a nice full face the sort that is perfect for easter bonnets! (^_~).
I have always wanted to dress up my cat...I definetly want that collar! Where did you get it? Is it really a small dog collar?
