Pink, Green, Yellow and Black

This is LONG overdue, but here are pictures of Baby M's wonderful bedroom.

My Grandma and mom made all of the bedding and curtains. I have said it before and I will say it again, I am LUCKY to have access to such wonderful and talented ladies. Now if one of them would teach me how to sew...

This purse used to be my Mema's. What you can't see is Baby M's middle name - which was also my Mema's name - is hand embroidered on the purse. Baby M never got to meet her Great Mema, so I am glad we are able to have this little keepsake of hers.

Need something to put the CD player on... Maybe we will just toss the changing pad and put it on the dresser. We never change her on that thing. Maybe because it is upstairs and we are downstairs most of the time. We decided just to get a large dresser and add the changing pad to the top, versus getting an additional piece of furniture. The room is not that large, so adding a separate changing table would have been impossible. Plus, changing tables are obsolete after a little while.

The pink and green banner hanging over her crib is Baby M's first name.

The wall art is framed nursery rhymes.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE the tropical monkey print we used for the curtains. Someone (me) miscalculated the amount of fabric to purchase, so I have lots and lots of this stuff left over. Not sure what we will do with it... I think it would look cute on a chair in our game room.

I originally designed the nursery to be 100% gender neutral, since we did not know if Baby M was a boy or girl. Now that we know she is a GIRL, I have been adding touches of pink to girlie it up.

Also, head over to the Baby M blog for some new pictures.

Weekend Recap

Our weekend was a flurry of family, friends, baking, cooking, cleaning, laughing, and baptising! Baby M was baptised yesterday and afterwards we had about 25 of our closest friends and family over for a little shin-dig.

In preparation for the party, I spent all week making these little cake balls. Extremely time consuming, but totally worth it.

And I got to break out some of the wedding gifts.... loving the marble and silver cheese tray. And Nambe trays.... love.

For more pictures that actually include Baby M, head over to her blog. And you can admire the BEAUTIFUL gown that my mom made.
If I "know" you want and you invite to the Baby M blog, just let me know.....

Latisse

I have been using Latisse for 3 weeks now and I love it.

The first time I used it, my eyes were red for a couple of days. Nothing major, and it went away after 3 days or so. Occasionally, my eye lids itch after I use it, but since I am about to go to bed it does not bother me. And, I have not noticed that my eyes are getting any darker.

Shoes

This weekend I finally have an occassion to wear this navy paisley beauty:

But now the question is shoes. I am thinking nude...

I have these, but not sure if they work with the dress.

Thoughts?

Hey good lookin... What ya' got cooking?

Last night for dinner we had a veggie/turkey bacon quiche with roasted rosemary new potatoes. I did my best to make it WW approved, and it was delish. (I did not calculate the points...)

It was also my first attempt at making homemade crust. It was a lot easier than I thought it would be. (That crust was totally NOT WW approved)

I took a standard Paula Deen quiche recipe and went from there.

I shredded 2 zucchini and 1 green bell with our Microplane shredder, then chopped up a handful of mushrooms.

I cooked some turkey bacon and used that instead of normal bacon or sausage.

I used 6 eggs - 3 whole eggs and 3 egg whites and about 1 cup of low fat/part skim mozzarella cheese and 1/2 cup of skim milk.

Bake at 375 for about 45 minutes.

?!?!?!

LOTS and LOTS of people that I know in real life know about this little ol' blog of mine... Most of the time that is all fine and dandy, but when you just want to YELL and SCREAM and VENT... you can't.

Which then leads me to drink wine. Or champagne.

And when I want to talk about all of the cute and funny things Baby M is doing, I can't.

Oh well... at least I have one blog that is private. Check out Baby M for new pictures.

Missing Dog

What kind of awful, low life, scumbag of a person would steal a dog?

The other night my brother's dog was stolen out of the back of his truck. There were witnesses, so they know he was stolen and did not just run away. He made a quick grocery run and the dog hopped into the back of the truck and went with him... while he was in the store Blue's collar was chained to a leash in the back of the truck. The f*ers that stole Blue took his collar off, grabbed the dog and sped off.

I hope that Blue attacked the crap out of them... or runs away from them and finds his way back to my brother.

To make matters worse, they also had a dog run away / get stolen from their property last week. This beautiful white dog is Lyra.

If you live in Austin and see either one of these dogs around town, let me know. Sad...
