I was at the spa this afternoon for my wax appointment and for a brief moment I thought I might just have had the baby right then and there. With every rip of my skin/hair, I began to sweat more and more and all I could think was that she is only half done. Lucky for me, the aesthetician was very complimentary of my high pain tolerance and said that the hospital would very much appreciate what I was doing and other pregnant women cannot handle this pain. (If you can't handle a bikini wax, then how can you handle labor???)
Maybe the saying should change from "sweating like a whore in church" to "sweating like a 9 month pregnant lady getting a bikini wax."

ouch! i can't wait to meet baby m!!
Let me just say that waxing takes me advil, a glass of wine and possiblya zoloft! Good God it hurts. cannot handle it!
I seriously may have snorted while laughing after reading this!
LOL! My brother in law uses the "sweating like a whore" comment all the time. Love it. Glad you didn't go into labor while getting a wax--freaking bonus points for getting a wax you know, DAYS before the baby arrives.
I can't believe Baby M will be here so soon!! I can't wait to hear about Baby M--and if it's a boy or girl--ahh!! So excited for you.
Maybe I'll have to bring you some Pom. Lemonade to recover from labor :)
You're my hero! Great for you to maintain your "business" :)
Too funny!
I love that you got yourself waxed before you go into labor. That is 110% something I would do!
I feel your pain. I was 8 1/2 months pregnant when I had mine done. Yes, they do appreciate it though.
Wow!! I only did that once and couldn't handle the pain and I wasn't 9 months pregnant, you are amazing!! Good for you!! I remember having to watch a birth video in 8th grade and I wish that woman could have handled it!! haha!!
You crack me up!!!!
Oh that is horrible. I had never even thought about having to do that. Good for you! And ouch...
you are CRAZY! I shaved- there is no way I could have handled a wax at that point in my pregnancy. I WAS glad to be bare down there when everyone was all up in my business though.
I'm glad I am not the only one that thinks that way....it would be something I would totally do! Waxing isn't too bad after you have been doing it....for years
I've definitely considered asking a waxer to stop halfway. But then I thought about Steve Carrel in 40 year old virgin and realized I'd look ridiculous. cest la vie.
oh girlfriend...kudos to you for doing that! I've really wanted to get a wax since I became pregnant but I'm too scared...I heard there is more blood flow down there and I'm already a wimp when it comes to waxing. I really need to get laser'd!!!
just had a "full" wax down there & it was not too bad. You don't produce a hormone to forget that type of pain but you do when you go through labor. I have a hard time remembering what the entire ordeal was like!
Hahaha! Do they require that you get a wax, or are you just being poliet?
Oh, I'm with The Mrs. I think I would rather endure labor than a bikini wax. You're brave!
I have to say, I'm impressed!! I may or may not have sniffled and teared up a LOT during my first time, but to do it pregnant?? Whoa!
hilarious because of two reasons.
1) "people at the hospital" = my dad.
2) the link to the wikipedia site is totally pornographic.
LOVE YOU, and good luck! i'll be up there after you deliver!
LOL, you go girl!
I have given myself a bikini wax before, and my mother that has given birth to three children now says I am here hero, I apparently have an insanely high pain tolerance.
I know you're quite busy right now, but I gave you an award! Come to my blog to check it out! :)
Wow! I am 35 weeks and have been wanting to get a wax before the big day but I am super modest and a little nervous. Thank you for sharing I laughed so hard! I tried to follow you but I don't see how. Good luck to you!
So really... should I do this before I give birth? I figure labor will be bad enough and to go through an all over wax would just be TORTURE. Do let me know if it is worth it!-La.
