Before and After -- Ear Lobes

After months of searching for a good plastic surgeon to “fix my ears” I finally did it! Yesterday I had both of my earlobes reconstructed. A little back-story…. When I was younger I got a staph infection in both ears. The holes healed extremely low and eventually one (the right one) ripped out. I had that one fixed back in elementary school. Fast forward over ten years to college – I decide to get the right hole re-pierced. They pierce it super low, to match the left ear, but this one ends up being even lower. So low, you can see the back when I wear even the tiniest diamond studs. Plus, a couple weeks before I wedding I ripped it even worse. So, yesterday I had both of them reconstructed!

It was not at all painful and only lasted about an hour. They numbed the entire earlobe with a numbing gel, and then I received shots to numb it even more…. After that, I am not sure what all they did. I did not want to know what was going on, or else I would have passed out! 1 hour later, I was all done. There are 8 stitches in my left ear and 6 in my right. I go back on Monday to get them removed, then in 8-ish weeks I go back to the plastic surgeon to have then re-pierced. I am definitely going to ask for the numbing gel when they re-pierce them… that stuff was amazing!

That's so cool. I had no idea you could get that done! When your ears are re-pierced I think that will be a reason to buy some pretty new earrings. ;)

I need that!! I wear MONSTER pearls and after talking on the phone all day, my holes have practically ripped through. I went to a dermatologist and she said the only thing she could do for me was to rip it through and sew it back up. I figured I'd wait for that to happen on it's on. :-/ Glad to hear your story though so I know it IS possible!

I am so afraid to have that done. My right ear has been lower than my left for 15 years. They messed up at the piercing booth. I let them close up a couple times before and repeirced them, put the people keep peircing them in the same hole. A friend was recently trying to kill a misquito on my face and ripped it almost to the bottom. I have taken out everything, and my right one is still dragging..
