Do you have an Easter tree? Growing up we always had one, so I have continued the tradition. This year Miss A was old enough to help decorate.... she took her job very seriously.

Easter 2011
Did you have a nice Easter weekend? We did. We had Easter festivities for almost an entire week and Miss A loved all of the egg hunts.

Do you have an Easter tree? Growing up we always had one, so I have continued the tradition. This year Miss A was old enough to help decorate.... she took her job very seriously.
We had a church Easter Egg Hunt and the Easter Bunny was walking around, but Miss A was not too sure of him. She much preferred him when he was like this.

Blog Sale - Michele Watch
I recently got a new watch, so I am trying to sell my other Michele watch.
It is in great condition, I just don't think I will wear it enough to justify keeping it. I purchased this watch from Sake Fifth Avenue 5 years ago, original retail was $675, I am asking $375. The watch shows normal wear, but it is still a wonderful watch. I would still be wearing it, had I not been surprised with my new one!

Want to add this watch to your jewelery box? Just email me (mrspreppy@gmail.com) or leave a comment. I will send you a PayPal invoice and payment needs to be handled within 24 hours.

A Mother's Prayer for Her Child

Nada. That is what I have for you right now. So, instead of posting something stupid, I am going to post Tina Fey's prayer for her daughter. Even if you dont have children you will find this amusing.
"A Mother's Prayer for Her Child" by Tina Fey
“First, Lord: No tattoos. May neither Chinese symbol for truth nor Winnie-the-Pooh holding the FSU logo stain her tender haunches.
May she be Beautiful but not Damaged, for it’s the Damage that draws the creepy soccer coach’s eye, not the Beauty.
When the Crystal Meth is offered, may she remember the parents who cut her grapes in half and stick with Beer.
Guide her, protect her when crossing the street, stepping onto boats, swimming in the ocean, swimming in pools, walking near pools, standing on the subway platform, crossing 86th Street, stepping off of boats, using mall restrooms, getting on and off escalators, driving on country roads while arguing, leaning on large windows, walking in parking lots, riding Ferris wheels, roller-coasters, log flumes, or anything called “Hell Drop,” “Tower of Torture,” or “The Death Spiral Rock ‘N Zero G Roll featuring Aerosmith,” and standing on any kind of balcony ever, anywhere, at any age.
Lead her away from Acting but not all the way to Finance. Something where she can make her own hours but still feel intellectually fulfilled and get outside sometimes And not have to wear high heels. What would that be, Lord? Architecture? Midwifery? Golf course design? I’m asking You, because if I knew, I’d be doing it, Youdammit.
May she play the Drums to the fiery rhythm of her Own Heart with the sinewy strength of her Own Arms, so she need Not Lie With Drummers.
Grant her a Rough Patch from twelve to seventeen. Let her draw horses and be interested in Barbies for much too long, for childhood is short – a Tiger Flower Blooming Magenta for one day – And adulthood is long, and dry-humping in cars will wait.
O Lord, break the Internet forever, that she may be spared the misspelled invective of her peers and the online marketing campaign for Rape Hostel V: Girls Just Wanna Get Stabbed.
And when she one day turns on me and calls me a bitch in front of Hollister, give me the strength, Lord, to yank her directly into a cab in front of her friends, for I will not have that shit. I will not have it.
And should she choose to be a Mother one day, be my eyes, Lord, that I may see her, lying on a blanket on the floor at 4:50 A.M., all-at-once exhausted, bored, and in love with the little creature whose poop is leaking up its back. “My mother did this for me once,” she will realize as she cleans feces off her baby’s neck. “My mother did this for me.” And the delayed gratitude will wash over her as it does each generation and she will make a Mental Note to call me. And she will forget. But I’ll know, because I peeped it with Your God eyes.
Amen.”

Chewbeads
Do you ever look at something and think to yourself "Why did I not think of that?!?!" That is exactly what I did when I first read about Chewbeads.
OR turquoise, orange and pink?
Chewbeads are 100% non toxic, silicone beads that are made to be put inside little mouths.... plus, they are pretty cute for the momma to wear.
I did not know about these chic necklaces when Miss A was teething, but when #2 starts to teeth, she/he will be able to chew in style.
There are 2 different styles of necklaces, plus they offer bracelets and they all come in dozens of colors.
Today the daily deal website 8moms.com has a $30 chewbeads gift certificate for only $15. You can get 2 necklaces for the price of 1!
Go here for the deal - http://www.8moms.com/referral/AfTtsc
Now comes the hard part - deciding the colors!
Should I do a trio of blues?
OR turquoise, orange and pink?OR white, black and yellow?
Ah..... decisions, decisions.
* I am not being compensated by chewbeads for this post. But, I would gladly accept some necklaces.

What's On My Phone
Here is another installment of "What Is On My Phone...."
The bluebonnets are beautiful this time of year. This field is not far from out house - we took Miss A up there a couple weeks ago for pictures.
She got this car for Christmas and LOVES it. "Momma, chase me!"
Spring has sprung.
I stole this recipe from Kate (Elefantitas Alegres) and it is wonderful. I served it over whole wheat pasta.... makes me hungry just looking at this picture.

Birthday Recap - #3
I took a break from Miss A's birthday recaps to share some BIG news.
And now we are back to regularly scheduled programming. Here is the last recap from all of Miss A's birthday festivities.

I designed the invitations and the mailing labels. The invitation ended up being 2 pages, so I attached both pieces with some red and white ribbon.

The favor bags each had a fun sticker on the outside and inside were farm animal stickers, bubbles, chalk and candy.
Here is the birthday girl sporting her birthday outfit. My mom made the pants... if you look carefully, you will notice that the 2 fabrics in her pants are also in the table runners that I made. Crafty. Her white T had rosettes along the neckline. It was perfect for running around the farm.

Bebe #2
Thank you all for the kind words regarding bebe #2! We are all very excited. Here is a rundown thus far:
- I am 9.5 weeks along
- We were able to see the heartbeat last week and everything looks great.
- No morning (or afternoon or evening) sickness, but I have absolutely ZERO desire to eat meat. So, if you have any good recipes without meat, please pass them along.
- I don't think we are going to find out the gender. We were surprised with Miss A and we are going to do that again.
- I have been accumulating stuff for Miss A's big girl room for a while, so we are almost ready to start the big switch to her big girl room.
- We have already started to discuss names. And we will probably be discussing names up until the very last minute. Ha!
- My goal was to wear normal jeans for at least 8 weeks. I was able to meet that goal, but just barely. With Miss A I was pregnant in the winter, so I am having to get all new stuff for this pregnancy. So far, I have ordered stuff from Boden, Gap and Old Navy.
- Overall, I am feeling great. By the end of the day I am beat, but chasing a busy and active toddler all day would do that to anyone!
