Booked!

Right now I am counting down the days until I will be here....

Ahhhh... the beach.

I love everything about the beach. The sound of the waves, the smell of the ocean, the wet sand on my toes and most of all - the tan I will get. Normally I would say having a cocktail on the beach, but this summer I will have to skip that little luxury.

I know the blog world is full of people that have vacationed in this part of FL/live here/of have houses here. Therefore, pony up some information!

Where do you like to eat? Where should we shop for groceries? Any fun things we have to do? What are toddler friendly activities around the area? We will be there mid-August.

Hey hey! My family vacationed on Navarre for years...definitely go to Baracudas for a blackened grouper sandwich. It's right as you come over the bridge on the right. Great for a quick lunch or supper. It's so nice there- not crowded, quiet and calm. Just what I like in a beach vacation. Have a wonderful time! Lindsay

my aunt has a condo in navarre that we go to every summer. you MUST eat at the cactus flower. it's right over the bridge in pensacola. their website is cactusflowercafe.net. It is "california mexican" and is to die for. get the cheese dip and thank me later. juanas pagoda (on navarre)has really good breakfast is fun at night. don't bother with the other restaurant on navarre - i cant remember the name but i think its a grey building. it's terrible. the outlet malls in destin are nice, but a bit of a drive. if you go there go to the customer service booth and see if they have a coupon book. they are usually 5 or 10 dollars and have tons of really good coupons. have a great time!

I have been vacationing in Navarre since I was a child and LOVE it! Grocery shopping is easy: there is a Publix on 98 and there should be a Winn Dixie as well. Food: TC's front posrch is on the "mainland" just across the bridge and has the best food (shrimp, oysters, etc.) it is in an old gas station and is a hole- in- the wall. Another good place on the island is the Sailor's Grill. We were there this time last summer and both places were hopping all day. It is a short drive to Pensacola if you want to go there for entertainment. Navarre is a wonderful family friendly place. As an adult the things that keep bringing me back are that it is not very "built up" and it is very quiet (alot of families go here, not twenty somethings). Hope this helps.
