Bikini Bod

The past 9 months I watched my body grow and grow and grow. Now, I want to watch it shrink and shrink and shrink. I have been known to partake in some rather stupid weight loss methods in the past, but those days are behind me. I am not going to do some fad diet that will not translate into real life. ie - Jenny Craig or Nutri System. Don't get me wrong - Valerie Bertinelli and Tori Spelling have lost a lot of weight using those diet's, but I want to be able to make this work without having to purchase certain "pre made diet" foods.

Pre baby I just watched what I ate and participated in a boot camp workout regimen 5 days a week... I am going to be getting back into boot camp, but not right now.

I think I am going to sign up for Weight Watchers... I just don't know if I should do the online one or in person. The online version would great because Mr. could do it with me.... but, then you don't have the public humiliation of getting on a scale in front of someone. Have you done the online version?

She may have been paid to loose the lbs, but I think she looks FAB in that bikini.

Good for you!!! I have done both and found I enjoyed doing it by myself online because the meeting organizer in my area for the time I could go wasn't very helpful and it was easier with my schedule! Honestly now I just use spreadsheets because you can access the forums without being a member and I saved off all the guides. The program takes some getting use to, knowing points, and keeping track, but once you get into the swing of things its like second nature! Its easy to stick with too with those extra points to use whenever! If you have any more questions let me know! :)

I did Weight Watchers online a few years back and it didn't work for me because I need the accountability that the in-person provides. I started it in person a few weeks ago and so far, so good. I've lost a little over 8 pounds.

Also, what I've realized is that if you sign up for it in person, you'll have the tools at home so that your hubby can do it too. Just have him take the "quiz" that you use to determine your daily points allowance and get an extra pocket guide that has the "points finder" so that he can calculate points if you guys aren't eating together. And you can share your meeting materials with him at home. There's a lot of take-home stuff.

I have done WW online and in person. In person worked better for me at the time because it held me more accountable. It is just too hard now with Anna, though, so I think if you're motivated enough online could be good with the little one.

Before you pay to join WW, try looking around on sparkpeople.com . I've been trying recipes on there and they have alot of the same (or similar) tools as weight watchers...

I love the online version which is what I do. Because let's face it I am not going to go to some meeting and weigh in, in front of complete strangers. I am a very private person and like it to stay that way.

I am a fan of weight watchers online because you get to weigh at home, use the points tracker, and have access to the online recipes, community boards, and articles ect. However, I am much more accountable with my points and eating when I go to the meetings.

I'm doing WW now and it is the only program that really helps me lose weight. I love to cook and eat out and on WW I can do all of that. I highly recommend it!

i was just thinking about this today- my 40th is coming up in about a month and i'd like to try and lose 7-10 lbs and start my new decade a little lighter. i was going to do weight watchers online also...'cause i'm just lazy and hate the meetings.

i've done online and in person. it's really easy to keep up with your points online, but i like weighing in front of someone because there is a lot of accountability there. either way, weight watchers was a good option for me, but i lost more weight when i went to the meetings.

I LOVE WW. I lost 25 pounds last year and will be joining again soon. Normally, I would join in person because I'm cheesy and like the meetings and it's only one person that gets to see your weight, but with two babies I'll be doing the online version. I've done it before, but not exclusively. I think you'll like the online version. I'm always happy to talk about WW!! ;-)

I did WW online and now do the online tracking (E-Tools) and go to meetings to weigh in. Online alone didn't cut it for me. The meetings are great because only one person sees you weigh in and you have the accountability. I mean really, you are there to loose weight and it makes me work harder knowing that someone else will see if I did or not. Weight loss is celebrated during the meetings but your actual weight is never told (unless you want to when you reach Goal Weight). I strongly suggest doing Meetings w/E-Tools. Good luck!

I'm doing WW online. I also didn't want to do the pre-packaged meal route nor did I want to go to the meetings (and see people I might know!) LOL

I just started a week ago (first weigh in tomorrow) and love it! It's real easy to follow and I love that I can enter things and they compute them.

I work out 5-7 times a week on my treadmill and needed an eating plan that would kickstart my metabolism to lose those stubborn pounds.

Good Luck on whatever you decide!

I've done both and I would say, for me, going to meetings was more effective. Of course, I went to meetings when I didn't have kids so I had more time to get there. I lost 30 pounds on WW (prekids) and I found the meetings to be a) more accountable - you're weighing in in front of someone (who doesn't really care anyway, but for some reason it made me want to lose) and b)inspirational - you hear the stories of people struggling to lose a lot more than you want to lose and it inspires you to keep going.

Online is great too - and cheaper - but for me, I really needed the meetings. If you pay the monthly fee, you can go to a meeting if you want, but you're not penalized for not going either.

Good luck!

We'll be on the baby weight loss journey together! My hubby started the P90x program, so I've been loosely following the diet plan and will start trying the workouts once I get the ok from my doc. I do love our travel system and we ditched the buckle cover at the hospital. Seemed pointless and that buckle is a little difficult to snap anyway!

Combine taking care of the baby with WW and you'll have lost an amazing amount of weight in no time - Good luck!

I always have success on WW...I have lost 9lbs since I started in February...not huge...I am a slow and steady loser. Oh, and I am doing it online and find it very easy!
Good luck!

I've been doing WW online because I just don't have the time for meetings, and it's worked for me. I would probably have lost more weight at this point had I gone in person and had that accountability, but, I'm still losing weight, so, no complaints. :)

Hey! I've been reading for a while, but this is my first time commenting. I actually am on WW online right now, and have lost 12 lbs - I am so happy to be at my goal weight! WW really helped me to get things straightened out before I really lost control.

That said, after my 2nd baby, I had gained A LOT of weight - I was huge! I lost all of the weight then on my own, just by counting calories (used the free service at sparkpeople.com) and getting on the elliptical regularly.

For me the key each time, has been recording what I eat (either points or calories). As soon as I realize how much I'm consuming, it is "easier" for me to cut back.

Good Luck! I'm sure you will do great no matter which way you go!

I have done the in person and it worked great! I'm a life time member now! Going in is good motivation to stick to it. I still make a lot of their recipes and go back to it whenever I need to slim up.

I so hear you! I am struggling watching things shrink but not as fast as I'd like! I did both online and in person weight watchers...I feel like both are great but if you can go in person I feel like you get more support and more accountability! Keep us up to date with your progress!!!

I have done both meetings and online, and I agree with most of the other comments. There is a lot more accountability when you have to go to the meeting, and for me it's a huge motivator. I barely lost a pound in the few months I tried it on my own, but now I am attending meetings again and am back on track!

The leader does make a big difference, though, and my center has a great leader on the night I attend.

Hi! I am new to your blog and I just wanted to tell you that I signed up for Weight Watchers online today, I am so excited! You can also go to the meetings and they are great - it definitely helps to have in person meetings! The particular meeting that I've gone to (with my Mom) has a great instructor! Good luck, I'll be following along!

She looks absolutely amazing... And I know you'll be rocking a bikini in no time too! (I'm 14 weeks pregnant and looking down the barrel of a very interesting bathing suit season!! All advice welcome!)

I am a WW lifetime member. I started about a year ago. I went to meetings and my DH did it online. Together we lost about 135 pounds!

Doing WW together was a huge benefit. I am fairly certain that if we had not been in in this together, we would not have been very successful.

This is a pic of us before (http://zfotos.smugmug.com/photos/446272999_9qDUq-L-1.jpg) and here is an after (http://eihpets.smugmug.com/photos/511087006_gf3GF-M.jpg)

Good luck on your journey!!

I did WW online before with not much luck. The newer Dr. Oz from Oprah You the Diet book seems to work. In any event, good luck and be healthy.
